- Organ concert: Vladimír Roubal plays organ classics
in the Basilica of Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Prague Strahov
Mr. Roubal (45):
1980 ÷ 1985 – organist in the cathedral of St. Bartolomeus in Plzen,
1985 ÷ 1990 – organist in St. Margaret’s Basilica at the Benedictines Abbey in Prague – Břevnov.
Since 1990 – Director of sacred music
of the Premonstratensian Royal Canonry, in the Basilica
of Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Prague Strahov.
He founded a choir and orchestra Collegium Strahoviense
there and he acts as his Artistic Manager and Conductor.
He is known as an outstanding improvisator, he won the first
prices for organ improvisation in two national competitions
(1982, 1988).
So far he played concerts in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary,
the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Poland, Romania, Moldova, the U.S.A and Japan.
Mr. Roubal has recorded a number of CD, he is an author of film music,
cooperates with Czech Radio, as well as with radio organizations in Germany,
Netherlands and Japan in recording music on historical organ instruments.
